what's mine is yours

I have started a blog about pretty things, pictures and such. I started it as sort of an overflow for all of the things I notice from day to day. Amie, Scott & Lyric, and my mom are all contributors. Go check it out!

Can You Hear Me Now... Good

So I just learned how to contribute to the blog. I'm going to try to post something. Here it goes.

Hi this is Maya. I think you were all alive when I was born, so I'm guessing you know who I am if not all I can say is you should have made more of an effort. That's all for now.
Loves to everybody!

HAPPY 19th

CALVIN MOISES JUAREZ
est. 1989

Great minds think alike, Roland! ... Before zonking for the night, I couldn't let this day end without opening this blog to celebrate Calvin wit' all y'all! And here I find another great celebration - a beautiful tribute to beautiful Amie Lisa! I say there's plenty of room here for both of them and more! How lucky we are to have you to share our lifes with - no wait Calvin will have to reword that last phrase. Go ahead, edit away dude, while we party on!
As you know, Calvin and his family have enjoyed a tradition for the majority of his b-day celebrations of going out for an anticipated animated adventure on the big screen! So many years have brought an opening within a day of his Big Day of what would quickly become treasured classics. (Most often at the Scera, back in the day).

This year will be no exception ... WALL-E Friday night! Yipeeeee!!

Glad you had a nice day off, mijo

We love you mucho!!

ps: olivia, or someone else that is not trying to print wedding announcements or gather more addresses, if you have a minute, go ahead and add a link to one of the many great trailers for Wall-e, OK?

Edit (06/27/89, 10:17): Calvin sez: "Got it."

It is Amie's birthday this week!

Amie will be celebrating her 29th birthday this Sunday and it is with deep gratitude that I want to wish her a very happy birthday!
She not only is a miracle in my life but a tremendous blessing to all of us and especially our little family.
Amie, you are not only a wonderful daughter, a loving sister, a remarquable mother, a magnificient wife and so many other titles, but you are also the one who in the shadows of everyday life, shines and bring brightness to our family.
For this and many other reasons that I can't express, here today, I love you and express my gratitude for you.
May this birthday be full of joy and another opportunity for you to know that you are loved!

With much love and admiration,
Roland, Eric, Emilie and Lydie

We will tentatively (if I can't figure out the cake situation), have a simple celebration at our home on Sunday at 6pm. You are certainly all welcome if you'd like! If you can't, no worries, you can leave Amie a comment as well...

Life Lessons

On Friday we took the kids up to Cascade Springs for a hike and a picnic. Along the way we came across this deer getting a drink of the fresh spring water. He then proceeded to....well, you get the idea. Emilie wanted to know "why do reindeer poop Daddy?" Eric just thought it was so great and wanted to stay and watch while Lydie kept saying "silly deer, that silly mommy!"

Aren't Dads Great?

Still Got It

This is what I was doing on my first day of work. Eat your heart out!

I'm just...u-all VECLEMPT

Allow me to share:

- A great letter from Sean this week! After listing some of the things he appreciates about this unique chapter of his life he says,

"I'm continually grateful to the Lord and to Mom & Papa that I can even recognize what a sweet experience this is. I wish more Elders out here could find the happiness in all the possibilities. Though I have to thank THEM for helping ME really see it. And not only that, we get to help OTHERS be happier while we're at it. We learn so much in helping them learn... We plant so many seeds that we often never see sprout. Yet, we come across healthy trees that are the result of other missionaries, and it helps add some hope to the faith...

I remember feeling those same things!
In ALL your spare time you can peruse more missionary wORDs at:
http://www.eldersean.blogspot.com
(generally updated by Olive weekly)

- Next I just have to tell you that we watched "Bucket List" last night and I LOVED it! I hadn't even heard of it, in fact when we turned it on i thought i heard the family say "Bucketless" - (more like "clueless" mom with attention issues).
I just knew that Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman were on the box! But if I had more time right now, I'd add a link to a preview of it.
Thank you, Koki for unselfishly renting the "TouchyFeely instead of the SciFi".
If you haven't seen it yet -go rent or buy it today!! It's WAY worth the 90 mins-ish of your time. Excellent movie!!

Love you all MUCHO,
xoxoxox
tu favorita

PS I was feeling "very olympic" * a moment ago because I'd inserted a link and was thinking, WOW - I've uploaded a video, posted a photo, and now insterted a link - I've hit the blogger bigtime! But then i clicked somewhere wrong and everything I'd typed (w/out saving) was GONE... yes, truly humbling.

* Name that movie ... (the feeling very olympic line) ... come on guys - "you dead, mon?"

GOOD JOB MOM! ALMOST! THIS IS OLIVIA, ADDING ON THAT LINK: THE BUCKET LIST TRAILER

OH WELL

So sad I didn't get to join you all at this infamous cabin that I still have not seen... my high school reunion went OK, though at the end I found out that the 3 people who were really in charge of it, had shown up late because one was at an intramural soccer game, and the other 2 (they're married to each other) were at a work party at Lagoon.

Even though Ben had to work the whole time, it was cool to see people & at least we did it. Thanks to my friend Jenna T. Jensen, student body president, I didn't have to do that much...

It was really great to see Jared, Leslie, Sam & Ella! Wow, those kids are so cute... (and by 'kids', I mean the whole family!) I'm sad you're not closer, but I'm glad we're close. Jared tried to pull any embarrassing things about me to scare Ben, but I think he might have failed... :) Good luck on your travels home, Tysons!

Name Your Tune

Okay everyone-
What song or songs come to mind when you think of the Ords?
I'll put as many of them as I can on the playlist. :)
Thanks!
p.s. loved the video Scooter!

Some things never change... (hint, you may want to pause the page music before playing the video)

For those of you who were unable to join us at Tyson's cabin, here's a little reminder of the magic that occurs when you put Tyler and I together with our guitars. Good times! Thanks again to Mark, Sandy, Hunter, and crew for a great time. It was especially cool to spend some time with Jared and Leslie... the level of fun automatically goes up a notch with them around. Hope to see everyone again soon! Peace. Scott, Lyric, and G-dub.

Hooray for 06/07/08

The 2 most popular days to be sealed in temples this summer: 06/07/08 and...
go ahead anyone except Oli, tell me if you can guess the other very booked date.

The day here in Provo started out a bit overcast and wet from sprinkles overnight, but by noon it was PERFECT! After a late morning run to Home Depot Koki dove into yard work somethin' fierce! The weather was inspiring! We all scurried a bit helping Olivia pull together her 5 yr high school reunion held at Rock Canyon park right by Provo temple, then most of us headed to Timberlakes... The canyon was breathtaking - the cabin was comfy yummy fun.

Everywhere you look it's just "gargeous" and green with beautiful blooming colors galore - well deserved joy after a long cold long cold long cold winter.
I'll post a few pics manana.

studs and bORDS...

An Appropriate Title...

Wake bORDS and Snow bORDS

The family band is expecting a new member.

For those of you who did not pick up on the subtle big sister comment on Lauri's "Nursemaid" post on our blog, http://thetysonfam.blogspot.com/ ,we will be adding a new member to our family band on January 5, 2009! Hopefully he/she can learn the bass since Emma prefers the drums.

(First off! I must say it was a proud moment for dad, when Emma picked up those drum sticks for the first time and started playing. A tear almost appeared! Rock Band is Inspired! Thanks Xbox!)

Also! Great choice on the play list! These songs always remind me of Tahoe and da ORDS! However, Scott and I might appreciate Micheal Jackson's Black or White!

Here we go Tara:

Maybe we will have an ORDinary boy, at 12 will be ORDained, at 16 go on a date where he scORD, at 19 fly into ORD (Chicago airport) on a mission for the LORD, watch for grandma Tyson using her vocal chORDs singing with one accORD with the Mo Tab, eat gORDs of gORDS with the members of the wa-ORD, come home after he tORD the city, and marry an extORdinary girl, and then multiply and replenish the ORDs

¡YOUR TURN NOW!

We're on a roll... go ahead, try your hand at mixing up the look!

Well it's Friday of first official week of summer for Los Juárez~
PACKED full of early morning "up and out" for all but Maya & Ashton.
Calvin ~ off to work in Lindon, occasionally dropping
Josie ~ to Driver's Ed at PHS by 6:30 who then joins
Carmen ~ in summer band, also at PHS, that starts at 7am just like
Koki & Cherie ~ who usually get to their offices around 7 as well, depending on rides to PHS
Olivia ~ house sits in Springville overnight, then begins helping at Law School by 9
By 10 the PHS girls finish, then walk to SSA. I run them home on a quick break and get my morning bear hugs from A & M, remind all of chores and privileges then scurry back to work...
By 12:30 J has seen to it that the 4 of them have had a yummy lunch, then sent off C, A, & M
to ride with my friend (saint neighbor mom) to swim lessons in Orem. (relaxed private pool)
By the time they're done frolicking, it's about 3:30 and Cal, Kok, or Cher are picking them up or heading to home where hopefully once a week our day is made by getting a letter from
Sean.
;-)
bORD out of my gORD so I'm goin shoppin @ nORD driving in my fORD looking for a cORD to tie down a wORD that rymes with ORD. cmon people bring it!
ScORD, bORD, want to travel to the fjORDs, let's all pray to the LORD.

Brig got back Memorial weekend with another Golden Boot trophy.  (he scored)  Now he is bored because no more tournaments until July so anyone up for a trip to Norway for the obvious(fjords).  It's late and  I'm having fun with the Ord thing, trust me, nothing rhymes with Kratzer!  Pray for me.  Ps. As soon as Brig figures this out he will be posting daily... in the meantime he would like all of you to try and think of all the possible Ord words.  (represent!)

Well, I got a call from Amie too...so here I am! I'm a nanny so at the moment my world is full of bottles, diaper changes, sports camp, go fish, dance lessons, and tea parties! I love my job (: I wouldn't have it any other way. I will make sure to write again soon! Much love to all!

wORDs... word.

I just received a call from Amie wondering why I hadn't joined the party... I told her if we hadn't joined, it really wasn't a party. It is now a party. So, I don't have much time to write as there is a diaper to change... and it's my turn. I'll be back soon to finish!

AN EPIPHANY, A BRAG & A C'MON

Epiphany: When you're engaged, the standard "How are you?" greeting is instantly replaced with "How's wedding planning coming?". Luckily, Ord-wise, it has also quickly been followed by an offer to help. But after feeling a bit of the wedding-plan-burden last night, I realized that most of wedding planning is really wedding deciding. It's just a bunch of big decisions! And I'm not the best at them, and I can't really ask others to make the decisions for who comes to what shower or what envelopes to use how. Well, maybe I can, but anyway... thanks to the help offers. I'll let you know what can be done after I DECIDE.

Brag: Blair Ord called me & he's coming to play soccer with me (& others) tonight. Can anyone else say that?

C'mon: Where are the other Ords? Just come comment by posting. It's a blog between us, so don't worry about having a photo or the perfect wording! Personally, I feel like there's less "pressure" than a personal blog. This is a casual (and o-so-fun) way to keep in touch between us. Click on my dear friends the Sheffields to see an example of what I mean.

wORDs

I knew one of you creative family members would have a better title than I could come up with! Thanks Cherie! And the video post was impressive! I am changing the template of the blog because the font that the other one uses for the title is all lower-case and can't be changed, which means your very clever title wouldn't work. Now we'll have to see if the other "old folks" can keep up with their little sister! :)

another from the 49er

I just couldn't resist.
OK, so last week, with Olivia cheering me on, I almost started my own blog... but i couldn't even get to the point of naming it! -all I could think of was a clever title for an Ord Family blog...
wORDs

OLD FOLK?? MOI??

Certainly you jest!

You only thought you'd invited me...
but that email address of mine has tricked a few of you! - it's a zero in the middle and not an O. Olivia corrected it on your list of authors.
Maybe I'll wow you by including a video clip on this post!
I told Ty & Laurie about a month ago that I'd send them this precious clip...
Let's see if an old 49er can pull it off.

Let's help the old folks! :)

So, if your parents are anything like mine, they will probably need a little tutorial on how this all works! Next time you have minute, sit them down and give them a little demo. We could really use their input here too! We'll work on Granpa as well.

Oh, Goodness.

Hahahaha. Yes. The guy who drove me to the ER was cute. And we happen to have the same taste in music. And I believe I described him as "scruffy", not "rugged".

"rugged" is a total Amie word.

This is fun!

I have to say, after one day, that this is going to be fun! It was so exciting to open the page and see Olivia's cute blog, with her illustration and all (way to go on the parking job!). I also wanted to let you know that you all now have "admin privileges" so that you can make any changes to the page that you want. Hope to hear from everyone soon! xoxoxox

Lindsay missed a very important part of her story...

Well, in the excitement of the moment and while Lindsay was suffering very deeply due to her newly inflicted wound, a veritable prince charming, fully trained as an EMT offered his life saving assistance. Lindsay describes him as rugged with great taste in music. Her eyes sparkle when she talks about these few moments in his presence...unfortunately, he disapeared too quickly to get his full name and phone number. I think you should ask her about it..... :)

Oh, my thumb.

Recently I accepted a job at Einstein's Bagels. On Saturday, it was crazy busy and someone ordered a honey whole wheat bagel warmed, not toasted. I took the warm bagel out of the microwave and grabbed our brand new bagel knife in order to slice it. I don't know if you've ever tried to slice a hot bagel, but it's pretty difficult. It's more of a sawing than slicing. You can guess what happened next: I sliced my thumb right along with the bagel and in a swift, epic move I grabbed my thumb, spun around, and held it over the sink in the back. There was so much blood I couldn't even see the cut. There was a giant flurry of people around me, gauze was thrown at me from somewhere, and I was told to hold my hand above my heart. The next thing I knew, a coworker was taking my car keys and rushing me to the Emergency Room. By then, the bleeding had subsided enough for me to see the cut. Come to find out, I didn't cut my finger..... I filleted it. I was thisclose to cutting a piece of my thumb right on off.
I arrived at the Emergency Room and the perky nurse with a wide toothy smile cheerfully inspected the wound and asked me when my last tetanus shot was. By then, my mom was with me and she said she could not remember the last time I had a shot of any kind. In the treatment room, I was given not one, but SEVEN shots. (one in my arm, six in my thumb) Then a doctor came in and scanned the barcode on my little bracelet thing and gave me three stitches. Needless to say, I'm a little sore.
I'm kind of excited, though.
Hopefully I'll get an awesome scar.

AMIE READS MINDS

Even ask my mom! I just mentioned to her that the Ord side should do this. Thanks, Amie. I hope we can all get into it. My news for the day: I pulled an amazingly skillful parallel parking job today. First try, tight squeeze, but perfectly spaced and perfectly parallel. Honestly, I probably could have won an award.

Ooh, and fill us in, Lindsay about your finger! Are you okay?

Family blogging

This is something I have been thinking about for some time now. I have been wanting a place where we can all be "together". Our own home page with links to each others blogs and updates posted often. I hope it will be useful and successful in keeping us in touch. Love, Amie
p.s. click on the names at right to see everyone's blogs!
p.s.s. if there are any song requests don't hesitate! I'll add them to the family playlist! :)
